This undergraduate program has a duration of four years. Core courses include Crop Production, Crop Breeding, Plant Protection, Neural Networks and Deep Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Crop Omics, Crop Science Laboratory, and Intelligent Agricultural Facilities and Equipment.

Designed to meet the needs of agricultural and rural modernization and to support the implementation of the Rural Revitalization Strategy, this program deeply integrates modern information technologies—such as the Internet, big data, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence—with agriculture. It emphasizes training in areas such as smart agricultural production, crop informatics, intelligent equipment, and the operation and management of the agricultural industrial chain.

The program aims to cultivate top-tier, innovative, and interdisciplinary talents who are committed to the development of agriculture, rural areas, and farmers (the "San Nong" mission), possess a solid foundation in the natural sciences and strong humanistic qualities, and are capable of integrating modern biotechnology, information technology, engineering, and agricultural management knowledge with agronomy. Graduates are expected to be well-prepared for careers in teaching, research, industrial planning, business management, and technical services in modern agriculture and related sectors.

Approximately five years after graduation, students are expected to have developed the following professional competencies and qualities:

  • The ability to undertake teaching and scientific research in smart agriculture and related fields;

  • The capability to engage in technological development, extension, business operation, and management within smart agriculture and associated industries;

  • The adaptability and potential to become core professionals in their respective fields in response to evolving career demands.
